Trauma and addiction

The first conversation after trauma or addiction

A long path through trees

Trauma and addiction are spoken about in large words. In the room they are specific. A year someone will not describe. A bottle that has started to organise the week. A son who no longer comes home. Poor sleep. A startle. A family that has run out of lectures.

Nitin Vispute directs Chetna De-addiction Treatment Centre in Jalgaon. More than a thousand people have been guided through addiction and back toward work, sleep, and a livable home. Counseling for trauma uses the same plainness. The pace is the person’s, not a programme’s.

What to write in the first message

  • Who the session is for.
  • Whether addiction, fear, or both are the reason.
  • Whether the family should come.
  • Whether you can travel to Jalgaon or need a phone or video sitting.

Do not wait for a perfect account. A few honest lines are enough to arrange the time. If the danger is immediate, do not use the form. Call local emergency services or Tele-MANAS on 14416.
